Cyber Security Technologies Introduces
Release 3.0 of Mac Marshal™
Investigation Product for Mac OS X Systems Enhanced to Provide Support for
Windows-Based Forensic Platforms and Other Innovative New Features
Eden Prairie, MN, November 18, 2011 Cyber Security Technologies today announced the availability of Mac Marshal Release 3.0, which now provides support for Windows-based forensic investigative workstations in addition to the Mac. With this new release, Mac Marshal is available in two new configurations: the Forensic Edition for Macs and the Forensic Edition for PCs. The Mac version runs on an OS X 10.4 or later platform, and the PC version runs on a Windows XP or later platform.
Mac Marshal Release 3.0 also upgrades the Field Edition, which runs on a USB 2.0 flash drive and plugs directly into the target Mac system while it is running, thus providing live investigation functionality. The Field Edition may also be used to investigate a disk image, and, in that mode, Release 3.0 now runs on both Mac and Windows-based forensic workstations.
“We are excited about the new availability of support for Windows-based forensic platforms. Our customers have asked for it and the market needs it,” said John Metil, CEO of Cyber Security Technologies. “The demand for a robust forensic software tool for investigating Mac OS X systems has been steadily increasing. With Release 3.0, Mac Marshal Forensic Edition for PCs will run on the Windows-based forensic workstations that are in widespread use in the forensic laboratories of corporations and law enforcement organizations. Thus, we will be providing a very cost effective solution that does not require dedicated Mac hardware for forensic investigations.”
“Furthermore, our Field Edition also now supports Windows-based forensic workstations. With our live analysis capability when investigating Mac targets, and our portability across Mac and Windows forensic workstations, Mac Marshal Field Edition provides unique, unprecedented flexibility, ease of use and value.”
In addition to supporting Windows- based forensic platforms, many other innovative new capabilities are included in Release 3.0:
- A new iCloud analysis tool for use with Apple’s iCloud service;
- Improved Bluetooth device history analysis;
- Enhanced Safari 5 support; and
- Faster analysis functions.
